People often make new year’s resolutions in order to change their lives for the better. They see it as a new opportunity to make more of themselves and to achieve more than they have in the past. Many believe that making resolutions is the key to achieving success and starting fresh. Resolutions can involve anything from improving your health to getting a new job, to simply being a better person overall.

There are many reasons why making resolutions is so important. For one, it allows you to set goals and track your progress over time. This way, you can see how far you’ve come and how much you still have left to do. Additionally, making resolutions helps keep you motivated throughout the year. Planning the Goals and Resolutions

Our crew went to three consecutive Times Square New Year Ball Drop Parties this last decade. We loved every single minute and the memories of the event are permanent. During these events from 2010-to 2018, we asked 90% of the audience we encountered a few questions to help us gather some statistics. out of approximately 1,200 people, 80% said they had a planning session with themselves or partners before the Times Square New Year’s Ball drop took place, where some of our most memorable events were spent watching.

92% of the same set of people made goals, and resolutions were made by 78%. 50% percent had a plan to achieve their goal.

Interestingly, over the last decade, more women than men make resolutions; 54% of women versus 47% of men make resolutions. Interestingly, more women than men make goals; 85% of women versus 78% of men make goals. This suggests that while more women make resolutions, they tend to be more holistic in their thinking when it comes to goal setting – having both short-term and long-term objectives. Interestingly, more men have a plan to achieve their goal (54%) than do women (43%).

We also gathered a list of the most commonly used resolutions

  • lose weight (19%)
  • save money (18%)
  • stop smoking (10%)

There are many different types of resolutions that people make, but the most common ones are typically health-related or financial in nature. This makes sense, as these are two areas of our lives that can often use some improvement. Losing weight and saving money are both things that we can control, and they have a tangible impact on our day-to-day lives.

Making resolutions is a great way to set yourself up for success in the new year. By taking the time to plan out your goals and resolutions, you’re putting yourself in a much better position to achieve them.
